JAGUAR PUSHES DESIGN FRONTIERS AT LONDON SHOW
A glimpse of the future is provided by an immersive presentation of the innovative Jaguar FUTURE‑TYPE virtual concept. The display introduces Jaguar’s vision for shared urban mobility in 2040 using a 3D installation and light projection technology.
The Jaguar‑sponsored Design Frontiers event has exhibits from more than 30 international designers.
Jaguar’s support of the Design Frontiers exhibition demonstrates our dedication to innovation, which is at the forefront of our own design process. The importance of good design is impossible to underestimate – the ability to create something that is both functional and beautiful should be celebrated.
Ian Callum
Director of Design, Jaguar
FUTURE‑TYPE aims to deliver answers to the complex questions surrounding car ownership in 2040 and beyond. The rapid development of autonomous technologies and the prospect of on‑demand vehicle ownership in the densely populated cities of tomorrow pose unique challenges for designers.
Innovative solutions are the answer and the FUTURE‑TYPE’s narrow body is designed to make the most of the space available in congested cities while the interior’s clever 2+1 social seating layout optimises cabin space and encourages occupants to talk face‑to‑face when travelling autonomously.
Design will always have an emotional value with customers and this will always be fundamental to what makes Jaguar unique. As engineering and manufacturing technology advances, each new model represents an exciting opportunity for us to push the frontiers of car design.
Ian Callum
Director of Design, Jaguar
