Held at Edinburgh Airport the event saw 32 cars compete in drag races along a 1,800‑metre runway.  The XKR‑S beat off fierce competition to make it to the semi‑final, outpaced only by vehicles valued at over twice the XKR‑S' £97,000 price tag. From rest the 550 PS Jaguar hit 100 mph in just over eight seconds before being measured reaching a terminal speed of 165 mph.

Now in its third year, Race the Runway has so far raised over £40,000 for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice and other co‑nominated charities.  This year's event saw a record entry. Joining the XKR‑S and the XKR in the line up of vehicles was an XFR, also making its Scottish debut.
