29 January 2019, Whitley, UK – Jaguar has revealed a selection of key product updates to the XF Saloon and XF Sportbrake range, including lower CO2 emissions for diesel models, more customer focussed technology and a new Chequered Flag special edition. The 20MY Jaguar XF models also become the first premium executive cars to be declared as available with RDE2-compliant diesel engines. RDE2 (Real Driving Emissions) is the latest and most stringent NOx emissions testing regulation, which all cars must abide by from January 2021.

All 20MY Jaguar XF 2.0d 163PS and 180PS rear-wheel-drive variants have been optimised for certification as RDE2-compliant. As a result of other product actions, including fitment of ultra-low rolling resistance tyres, CO2 emissions have also been cut by as much as 8g/km. The XF Saloon 180PS RWD Manual Portfolio, for example, sees CO2 emissions fall from 134g/km to 126g/km.

For company car buyers, RDE2-compliant diesels don’t attract a 4% supplement to the Benefit-in-Kind tax which – when combined with lower first year Vehicle Excise Duty– can mean three-year savings of up to £2,304*. Private buyers could also save up to £345 in first year Vehicle Excise Duty.

Our significant investment in the most advanced engine technology means that on selected new diesel Jaguar XF models, customers can benefit from significant tax savings whilst enjoying a Jaguar sport saloon. These new diesel engines meet the demanding target, set by the latest European standards, well ahead of schedule. The test results reflect their performance in real-world driving conditions – and Jaguar's commitment to offering customers outstanding driving dynamics with the lowest cost and impact on the environment.

Jaguar’s latest diesel engines have approximately 25% better fuel economy than petrol engines, produce around 15% less CO2 and emit around the same amount of NOx. For drivers that travel more than 12,000 miles a year, a diesel engine is often the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly choice.

As part of this latest model year update, a new Smartphone pack which features Apple CarPlayâ and Android Autoä is standard on all models. The technology mirrors the user’s smartphone allowing them to access a selection of apps on the car’s 10-inch Touchscreen.

Also new to the XF and XF Sportbrake range is the Chequered Flag special edition. The Chequered Flag editions feature a selection of unique exterior enhancements, handpicked interior design elements and a choice of Jaguar’s efficient and powerful British-built Ingenium diesel and petrol engines.

The XF Saloon and Sportbrake combine the elegance and exceptional performance which underline all Jaguars. Both XF models feature beautiful silhouettes giving them a dynamic appearance perfectly suited to the Chequered Flag badge.

A selection of exterior enhancements distinguish the Chequered Flag models from the rest of the range including unique badging on the side vents. Further design cues for a purposeful finish include sport front bumper, Black Pack, body-coloured side sills, boot spoiler and 18-inch Style 7011 alloy wheels in Gloss Black Finish.

The new special edition is available in a choice of three exterior colours - Yulong White, Santorini Black and the newly introduced Eiger Grey.

Inside, the XF Saloon and Sportbrake Chequered Flag models feature handpicked elements including unique interior badging on the treadplates, Dark Hex aluminium instrument panel finisher, R-Sport full leather interior, and a choice of Ebony or Ebony / Pimento colour combinations with contrast stitching.

Standard features for the Chequered Flag include Navigation Pro with InControl Connect Pro. The system includes 36-month data SIM plan to provide a Live Traffic function which helps drivers avoid traffic jams for a more seamless journey, whilst also allowing users to share routes from a computer or mobile app. Other online services include Share ETA function, car parking availability and fuel pricing. Further features include the 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display and keyless entry.

About Jaguar

Jaguar’s heritage of elegant design and breathtaking performance has excited and delighted the world for 80 years. Today’s world-class Jaguar family embodies the Art of Performance, with the remarkable, much admired and award-winning XE, XF and XJ saloons, the dramatic F-TYPE sports car, the F-PACE performance crossover – the fastest-selling Jaguar ever, the new E-PACE compact performance SUV and now I-PACE, the all-electric performance SUV that puts Jaguar at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution.

About RDE2

RDE (Real Driving Emissions) testing replaces laboratory emissions testing with real-world on-road tests, helping ensure advertised emissions are as close as possible to those that customers will experience. Every new car sold from September 2018 had to meet RDE Step 1 regulations, but the more stringent RDE2 regulations don’t become mandatory until January 2021.

Chequered Flag

The Chequered Flag special edition was first introduced on the F-TYPE to celebrate Jaguar’s sports car lineage that spans 70 years, beginning with the XK120.
