IN DETAIL

(Whitley, Coventry ‑ 30 September 2014). British GQ has again joined forces with the connection and networking experts Editorial Intelligence to reveal 'The 100 Most Connected Women 2014,' representing this century's new cornerstones of influence. This follows the 100 Most Connected Men list earlier this year.

Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ, commented: "This is a compelling review of women from different disciplines and generations each triumphing today: It may still be a man's world but where would we be without women to lead us through it? I like the sheer variety this list has: Amal Alamuddin and HM Queen Elizabeth II rank equally alongside Rebekah Brooks and Doreen Lawrence. An echo of campaigning runs throughout, and for that reason the quality of 'Campaigner and Change Agent' has become a new key characteristic for this list. Another category emerged, that of creative collaboration. What is consistent throughout is the spirit with which these Most Connected Women tackle life. I'm thrilled that Editorial Intelligence, the UK's leading intelligence network, has curated this list with us ‑ Julia Hobsbawm knows better than anyone that being smartly connected is vital today."

Julia Hobsbawm, founder of Editorial Intelligence and co‑creator of the 100 Most Connected list, remarked: "A woman in a man's world has, undoubtedly, to try harder. And yet women have the edge when it comes to the currency most prized at the moment: the valuable commodity that is connection. The skill, talent and gift to make contacts, creatively and collaboratively, puts women front and centre of some of the most demanding and challenging roles in Britain today."

The 100 Most Connected rankings are: Leader, Spider, Influencer, Campaigner & Change Agent, Creative Collaborator and Connector.
