14 March 2011

In the year that the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Jaguar E‑type turn 50, the two British institutions have come together in a year‑long partnership.

14th March 2011: In the year that the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Jaguar E‑type turn 50, the two British institutions have come together in a year‑long partnership.  The affiliation includes Jaguar's support of the Folio Royal College of Art exhibition, which opens in April in the newly reopened theatre in Stratford‑upon‑Avon.

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK commented: "There are many reasons why this partnership between Jaguar and the RSC makes complete sense.  We are two Midlands‑based organisations with a global profile, we share mutual brand values of excellence, innovation and heritage, and 2011 marks both 50 years of the iconic E‑type and 50 years of the Royal Shakespeare Company.  We look forward to working with the RSC throughout the year."

Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Vikki Heywood, said of the partnership: "We are delighted to be celebrating the 50th birthday of the RSC and its continuing artistic innovation and excellence.  Our partnership with Jaguar is a welcome addition to these celebrations; as a company like us, which strives to achieve the highest standards and takes pride in its British credentials.

"We are about to see new productions on stage in our newly transformed theatres in Stratford‑upon‑Avon which reopened on time and on budget, and have already been welcomed by both new and longstanding audiences and visitors."

The past 50 years have seen the RSC and Jaguar evolve and remain at the forefront of their respective industries.  The RSC is a leading arts organisation that places collaboration and artistic excellence at the heart of their work.  Likewise, Jaguar leads the way in design innovation, industry‑leading engineering and advanced technologies.
