(MAHWAH, N.J.) – August 25, 2020 – This month, the Jaguar E‑PACE compact performance SUV achieved a rare automotive feat after it was ranked highest in its class in two surveys conducted by J.D. Power, a third‑party industry leader in evaluating vehicle quality. E‑PACE was named “Top Small Premium SUV” in both the 2020 Initial Quality Survey (IQS) and the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study (APEAL).
This marks the first time that a Jaguar model has been named to the top of its respective category in both the IQS and APEAL assessments. The IQS score of 159 PP100 for E‑PACE represents a milestone achievement for the Jaguar brand. Additionally, the Jaguar brand received a ranking of 190 PP100, which represents a relative improvement of several places over the prior year.
“Over the last two years, E‑PACE has established itself as a unique luxury SUV for discerning customers," said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO, Jaguar Land Rover North America. "Given Jaguar is relatively new to offering SUVs, we are thrilled that the E‑PACE has received not one, but two J.D. Power awards for its top‑notch initial quality and overall desirability.”
The IQS study has served for over 30 years as the automotive industry benchmark for new‑vehicle quality measured at 90 days of ownership. The 2020 survey asked respondents—drivers of new, 2020 model‑year vehicles—to evaluate over 200 problem areas in nine disparate categories. APEAL tallies owners’ subjective opinions in nearly 40 criteria, focused around their respective emotional responses to their new vehicles.
“It is not often that a vehicle is highest‑ranked in its segment for both IQS and APEAL” said Dave Sargent, Vice President of Automotive Quality at J.D. Power. “E‑PACE performed exceptionally well this year in both studies, which is a strong testament to everyone that worked on the vehicle from the designers and engineers, the team manufacturing the vehicle, through to the dealers that delivered it to customers.”
Now in its third year of production, the E‑PACE is a five‑seat compact performance SUV that packs the design and essence of a Jaguar sports car into a practical and connected all‑wheel drive vehicle. With sporty design cues and trademark Jaguar driving dynamics, the compact E‑PACE is the entry point to the growing Jaguar SUV family, alongside the F‑PACE performance SUV and all‑electric I‑PACE SUV.
The E‑PACE range is available now, with an MSRP from $39,9501. More consumer‑facing information is available at www.jaguarusa.com.
