For 2013, the XF introduces two new forced‑induction powertrains, a new ZF® eight‑speed automatic transmission and the new Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ system. The XF includes such Jaguar signature "surprise and delight" elements as the JaguarDrive Selector™ that rises from the center console and air vents that rotate to their open position when the start button is pressed.

2013 Jaguar XK Coupe and Convertible

The first car created under the leadership of Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum, the XK Coupe and onvertible models typify the Jaguar grand touring performance persona in an ultra‑modern sporting car with advanced aluminum construction.

Having received major design and luxury revisions for model‑year 2012, the Jaguar XK expands its offerings for 2013. The XK line now starts at $99,975 (MSRP) with a new Touring model in Coupe and Convertible versions, and tops out with the limited‑production, 300 km/h5 XKR‑S. Just 12 XKR‑S Coupes and 8 XKR‑S Convertibles will be offered in Canada for the 2013 model year.

The Jaguar XK models blend the brand's performance‑tuned driving character with superb luxury akin to grand touring cars that cost much more. As an example, all models come standard with the Active Dynamics variable suspension damping along with standard 19‑or 20‑inch wheels. A choice among 16 paint colors, 10 alloy wheel designs and seven convertible top colors illustrates the range of personal expression the Jaguar XK line offers.

New for 2013:
• The Jaguar 2+2 grand Touring Coupe and Convertible, with aluminum construction and 5‑litre V8 engines ranging from 385hp to 550hp
• New XK Touring trim level offered
• Limited‑production XKR‑S returns with 12 Coupes and 8 Convertibles available for the Canadian market for 2013

New Jaguar Powertrains for 2013

Two new Jaguar powertrains for 2013 combine a broad powerband with high efficiency, along with the refined performance expected from a Jaguar.

The new DOHC 3‑litre supercharged V6 engine added to the XF and XJ lines is based on the same architecture and technology as the brand's supercharged 5‑litre V8. The new supercharged 3‑litre engine provides performance comparable to the naturally aspirated 5‑litre V8 it replaces in the XF line, including zero to 100km/h acceleration in just 6.4 seconds5, but with better fuel efficiency.

The new DOHC 2‑litre turbocharged four‑cylinder engine added to the XF line harnesses performance‑enhancing technologies including direct fuel injection, low‑inertia turbocharging and variable valve timing control on both the intake and exhaust camshafts. The 2‑litre engine delivers 240hp and sustains a
251 lb.‑ft. torque peak from 2,000‑4,000 rpm. Teamed with the new eight‑speed automatic transmission, the engine gives the 2013 XF spirited performance.

New Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ System

The new Jaguar Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ system is exclusively available with the new supercharged 3‑litre V6 engine in the 2013 XF and XJ models. The system's active power transfer control technology adds the benefit of enhanced all‑season traction while retaining the sporty agility and steering feel of the rear‑wheel drive models.

In dry‑road conditions, the electronically controlled wet multi‑plate clutch sends a small amount of "pre‑load" torque to the front wheels as the vehicle starts off, and then seamlessly sends most torque to the rear wheels once underway. Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ can transfer up to 50 percent of available torque to the front wheels, either in response to wheel slip or to pre‑empt the possibility of rear‑wheel slip. In Winter mode, the system sends more "pre‑load" torque to the front wheels before switching to a 30:70 torque share between front and rear to maximize traction on slippery surfaces.
