Jaguar offered guests a preview of its latest model, the XKR‑S Convertible, at an exclusive event in Beverly Hills, California last night in advance of the car's global debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Actress Mila Kunis joined the company to showcase the Jaguar XKR‑S, the most powerful and fastest convertible Jaguar has ever built ‑‑ at a star‑studded, VIP reception at Two Rodeo Drive. The event celebrated the next generation design concepts from Jaguar and Land Rover.
"It is a perfect fit for us to preview the stunning new Jaguar XKR‑S Convertible here amongst the glamour of Beverly Hills," said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar Global Brand Director. "Southern California is an important market for Jaguar and where else are performance open tops more at home?"
The Beverly Hills event also featured the newest concept cars from Jaguar Land Rover, including the Jaguar C‑X16, the Land Rover DC100 and DC100 Sport. The C‑X16 concept is a bold statement of Jaguar's future design and technological intent and is a precursor to future Jaguar sports cars. The DC100 concept is the original Defender reinvented for a new generation and captures the rugged, dependable and adventurous spirit of the iconic vehicle. The DC100 Sport takes the spirit of freedom first embodied in the Defender to the 21st century in the form of a performance vehicle with all‑terrain capabilities.
The car boasts a top speed of 186 mph and 0‑60 mph in 4.2 seconds. The pinnacle of the Jaguar sporting range ‑ the XKR‑S Coupe ‑ is now joined by a convertible body style which offers the same enticing blend of abilities, while offering driver and passenger a heightened connection with their surroundings. The XKR‑S Convertible embodies all the characteristics that have always defined legendary Jaguar GTs ‑ explosive performance, precise handling, relaxed comfort and discreet luxury ‑ while taking Jaguar into a new performance level.
