A mixed second day in the German capital, the newest team to join the championship showed strong improvement in qualifying performance from yesterday’s race, with Mitch Evans starting seven places higher than the day before in P9 just half a second from pole position.
Mitch was consistently in contention for a fifth consecutive points finish during the first half of the race. However, a procedural issue during the car swap on lap 23 meant that the New Zealand racer re-joined the track in P17, behind team-mate Adam Carroll.
Adam made up five places on the opening lap of the race after a tough qualifying session. He ultimately brought the Jaguar I-TYPE home in P16.
Having recorded the fastest lap of the race yesterday, the British team leaves the Tempelhof track with their first silverware for, fastest lap in race one, and are now P9 in the team standings with 20 points.

Mitch put together a great lap and recorded our smallest gap to pole position. We were also competitive on energy management and pace, despite such a long race.”
“Unfortunately Mitch lost out on potential points today as his second car had a delay in gear selection in the pit stop. As a new team, this race was a new challenge and to bring a further point and our first VISA Fastest Lap Award home with us is encouraging. We will fly back to the UK tomorrow and get straight to work to prepare for the New York ePrix next month."

Mitch Evans, #20: “It was a mixed day for me in Berlin. I struggled to find the right set up in practice this morning, having not had as much running as I would have liked yesterday. I was pleased to set a strong qualifying lap when it counted. I put my Jaguar I-TYPE in P9 and in contention for a fifth consecutive points scoring finish.”
“When I pitted for the car swaps, my second car was in neutral and this delayed my exit, so I re-joined behind Adam. We pushed for the maximum from there and gained another position. We’re going to work hard for more points in New York and I can’t wait to go racing in Brooklyn.”
Adam Carroll, #47: “Today, we struggled to find the best set up for the demands of Tempelhof. Qualifying is so key in Formula E and we struggled to hook up a representative lap. We had a lot of work to do to move forward but I had a great first lap, going from P19 to P14.”
“This is our learning year and we can be proud of each positive step we are making from race to race. Despite such aggressive energy targets to complete the longer race distance, the team gathered a lot of valuable data to help us unlock more potential in time for the next race.”
Panasonic Jaguar Racing now heads west to the Big Apple - New York. The double-header ePrix takes place on 15 and 16 July, and will make history as the first electric street race to take place in the city.
