(MAHWAH, NJ) ‑ November 14, 2013 ‑ Jaguar is proud to announce that the 2014 F‑TYPE has received the '2014 Automotive Excellence Award for Design' from Popular Mechanics magazine.

Every year, Popular Mechanics performs comprehensive test drives on virtually every new car on the market and celebrates the year's best in the December/January issue's 'Automotive Excellence Awards." The Jaguar F‑TYPE was chosen as the winner in the 'Design' category due to its "head‑turning lines, perfect proportion and evocating styling."

"We're thrilled that the Jaguar F‑TYPE has received the 'Automotive Excellence Award for Design' from Popular Mechanics," said Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar. "A piece of design should tell a story, and this is why every line in the F‑TYPE has a purity of purpose. As we head into the LA Auto Show and the reveal of the F‑TYPE Coupe, we're excited to see the F‑TYPE Convertible recognized by such a credible publication."

"Jaguar has a rich history of beautifully‑designed cars, and the F‑TYPE lives up to its heritage," said Michael Austin, Senior Automotive Editor at Popular Mechanics. "With its arresting design and dramatic curves, the F‑TYPE looks great from every angle."

The new Jaguar F‑TYPE represents a return to the company's heart: a two‑seat, convertible sports car focused on performance, agility and driver involvement. The F‑TYPE is a continuation of a sporting bloodline that stretches back more than 75 years and encompasses some of the most beautiful, thrilling and desirable sports cars ever built. Jaguar cars have always defined sinuous, muscular elegance, and the F‑TYPE continues ‑‑ and advances ‑‑ this tradition with new, assertive design language.

The all‑aluminum F‑TYPE Coupe range will deliver in production form the uncompromised design vision of the Jaguar C‑X16 concept, and will complement the existing F‑TYPE Convertible.
